At Chiltern Support and Housing Ltd, we offer expert, person-centred support to individuals with mild, moderate, severe, and profound learning disabilities. We understand that learning disabilities often come with additional challenges, which is why our team is also experienced in supporting individuals with associated complex needs. This includes physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, co-occurring conditions like autism or mental health issues, and long-term health conditions including epilepsy, dementia, respiratory illnesses, and other neurological conditions.

Whether you’re a family member, social worker, or individual seeking support, we’re here to help you take the next step.

Take the First Step Toward Supported Independence

Let’s Talk

If you or a loved one needs help at home, we’re here to provide the support you deserve with professionalism, kindness, and respect.

What Is a Learning Disability?

A learning disability is a lifelong condition that affects a person’s intellectual ability and the way they process information. It can make everyday tasks—such as managing money, socialising, or organising daily routines—more difficult. People with learning disabilities may require extra time to learn and support to develop new skills, understand complex information, and navigate social situations.

How We Support People with Learning Disabilities

At Chiltern Support and Housing Ltd, we are committed to supporting adults with a wide range of learning disabilities to live healthy, fulfilling, and independent lives. Our approach is rooted in compassion, respect, and the belief that every individual should be empowered to make choices, build relationships, and participate fully in their communities.

We work with individuals across the adult lifespan, providing tailored support that promotes independence, confidence, and self-esteem. Our services extend to people who have additional support needs due to physical disabilities, communication challenges, sensory processing differences, neurodivergent traits (such as autism), or co-occurring mental health conditions.

Specialist Support for Complex Needs

Some individuals we support may present with behaviours that are perceived as challenging or may experience distress due to unmet communication or emotional needs. Others may have had contact with the criminal justice system and require a more structured, therapeutic approach to rehabilitation and care.

To meet these diverse and often complex needs, our support teams are trained and backed by a range of internal specialist services, including:

  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Team – offering guidance in reducing distressed behaviours and enhancing quality of life
  • Nurse-Led Health Promotion Team – promoting physical health, wellbeing, and proactive health management
  • Forensic Mental Health Team – working with individuals with a forensic history or those at risk of offending, ensuring safety and rehabilitation

These internal teams collaborate closely with external professionals and statutory services to ensure care is joined-up, evidence-based, and responsive to each individual’s circumstances.
